Description

INCI Name: Sodium Lactate

Molecular Formula: CgHsNaO3. 

Alternative names include Sodium DL-lactate, Lactic Acid Sodium Salt, Compound Sodium Lactate Solution, and Monosodium Lactate. 

Ingredient purity: 70% 

Type: Emollient

• Sodium lactate Used in cosmetics as a preservative, exfoliator, and humectant. Lactic acid is produced through fermentation of sugar, typically from corn or beets. 

• This component is commonly used in personal care products and cosmetics worldwide.

• It promotes supple and bouncy skin. This product adds long-lasting moisture to soaps, shampoos, and creams.

• Moisturising the skin reduces flakiness and dryness.

• It can be used in formulations to treat eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. It works as a preservative in cosmetics.

• Improves the stability of cosmetic compositions.

Sodium lactate has a pH of 6.5 (6.0-7.3) and is water soluble.

How to use: 

• Heat the water phase.
• Add sodium lactate to the hot water phase. • Blend the mixture and allow it to cool.
• Incorporate the oil phase and surfactants to complete the final preparation.
