Formic Acid is a common ingredient in cosmetics and personal care products, including face, neck, and skin care products, as well as foot powders and hair care products.

USAGE:
Formic acid is supposed to be utilized at low quantities and neutralized into different type salts.
The maximum concentration permitted in ready-to-use cosmetic formulations is 0.5% (acid).

The European Union's Cosmetics Directive lists formic acid and its sodium salt as preservatives.

WARNING: Avoid direct contact with the skin. Acidic in nature. In the event of direct contact with the skin, use baking soda and water to neutralize.
Wear a nose mask. Breathing in formic acid can induce eye and nose discomfort, sore throat, cough, chest tightness, and headache.
