This Shea butter is derived from Shea nuts and has not been refined or processed in any way. Sediments, such as minute plant fiber particles, may be present in the butter. Although batches may differ significantly, this product frequently has a strong, pungent, and sometimes smokey aroma that distinguishes pure and authentic Shea Butter from Ghana. You may also observe natural color variations, such as darker spots and grey streaks. It is solid at room temperature and may be hard in consistency. When adding butter to creams and lotions, it may be required to gradually warm it until it is melted or very soft in texture and may be absorbed into the finished product. The melting point might vary from 32°C to 35°C. Create a vortex with your cream or lotion and trickle in the melting butter, blending until totally integrated and consistently smooth. The standard rule of thumb for soap addition is one tablespoon per pound (15 mL/500 g). Results may vary, as with most raw materials, so we strongly advise conducting small, lab-scale batches before proceeding with commercial manufacturing.
Shelf Life: Store in an airtight container at cool temperatures (below 25°C) away from light and moisture. The product will become liquid above ambient temperatures (e.g., 36 °C), but will solidify again upon cooling without impacting functionality. This butter has a one-year shelf life when stored properly.
