DESCRIPTION: INCI: Polysorbate 80
APPEARANCE: Yellow Liquid
Alternate names: Tween 80, Polyoxyethylene [80].
Sorbitan Monooleate purity: 99%.
TYPE: Surfactant
Polysorbate 80 is extracted by chemical methods from sweet fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, and prunes. This surfactant is utilized in cosmetics and personal care.
• Polysorbate 80 is used to equally distribute oils in shampoos, conditioners, face washes, lipsticks, and other products, preventing them from separating.
• It works by weakening the surface's water tension, which allows dirt and oil to be lifted.
Benefits and uses:
 • Improves product consistency by acting as an emulsifier.
 • It serves as a solubilizer, blending all substances.
 • It's what gives your products their creamy texture.
 • It improves rinse-off and provides additional strength to your other surfactants.
 Usage Rate: 1 to 20%
Solubility in different solvents: soluble in ethanol
 Solubility: Water.
The recommended consumption level is 1-20%.
 How To Use
 • Add polysorbate 80 to the hot oil phase and stir until thoroughly dissolved.
 • Once it has cooled to room temperature, add water.
 • Continue looking until an emulsion develops.
Density: 1.06-1.09 grams per milliliter, oily liquid
 Chemical formula: C64H124026.
