Citrus Medica Limonum Butter is a mix of lemon butter and hydrogenated vegetable oil that moisturizes and freshens your skin. It has a mild lemon smell and a pale yellow tint. This blend is beaten until it reaches a creamy consistency ideal for use as a massage butter or balm. The natural oil contains Limonene, a highly potent free radical scavenger.
COMMON USE: THIS BUTTER IS LIGHT ENOUGH TO BE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE BODY FOR EXTRA HYDRATION, SPECIFICALLY ON THE LEGS. This butter is an excellent addition to creams and lotions, as well as to M&P soaps and hair conditioners.
RECOMMENDED USAGE:
Lotions and creams: 2-20%;
Balms: 5-100%;
Bar soaps: 5-20%.
Hair conditioners: 1 to 10%
When incorporating butters into creams and lotions, it may be necessary to gently warm them until the texture is soft enough to be incorporated into the finished product. Using a hand blender, make a VORTEX with your cream or lotion and drizzle in your melted butter to fully incorporate. IN SOAPS, THE GENERAL RULE OF THUMB IS ONE TABLESPOON PER POUND. AS WITH MOST RAW MATERIALS, RESULTS CAN VARY, SO WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND SMALL, LAB SCALE BATCHES BEFORE ANY COMMERCIAL MANUFACTURING.
RECOMMENDED STORAGE: TO MAINTAIN THE TEXTURE, STORE THIS BUTTER IN A REFRIGERATOR. IT WILL BECOME SOFT AT HIGHER TEMPERATURES.
SHELF LIFE: SLOW TO GO RANCID, WHEN THE OIL IS Kept CLOSED AT A TEMPERATURE BELOW 18°C AND STORED AWAY FROM LIGHT, THE SHELF LIFE WILL BE UP TO 24 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF MANUFACTURE. Refrigeration is recommended.
NOTE: THE APPEARANCE OF THIS BLEND MAY CHANGE FROM BATCH TO BATCH DUE TO NATURAL INGREDIENTS SUCH AS ESSENTIAL OILS.
CAUTION: THIS BUTTER MAY BE PHOTOTOXIC. PLEASE DO NOT USE ON SKIN THAT WILL BE EXPOSED TO THE SUN. For external use only. A skin test is recommended before use.
